Letting Both Exist

Motherhood arrived and changed everything.

My body.

My time.

My priorities.

And for a while,

I wondered if it changed me.

When Identity Narrows

So much of motherhood asks us to become functional.

Reliable.

Consistent.

Needed.

In that narrowing,

the woman I was — curious, creative, inward —

didn’t disappear,

but she did grow quiet.

Not because she was gone.

Because there wasn’t much room to hear her.

Remembering Who I Am

Lately, I’ve been listening again.

Not to reclaim an old version of myself,

but to meet who I am now.

The woman inside the mother

is wiser.

More tender.

Less willing to abandon herself.

She still longs.

She still creates.

She still matters.

Letting Motherhood Expand Me

Motherhood doesn’t have to erase who we are.

It can deepen us.

Refine us.

Teach us what truly needs protecting.

I’m learning that I don’t have to choose

between being a good mother

and being myself.

I’m allowed to be both.

A Reminder for You

If you’ve wondered where you went

after becoming a mother —

you’re still here.

Not lost.

Not replaced.

Just evolving.
